Stupid answer would be to keep it at room temperature instead of storing it in a freezer (funny, eh?)
Sensible-ish answer - leave it for a while and if no other methods work then take it into a shop and see if they can do anything about it, do iPods have guarantees? If they do then you could get it fixed on that, right?
Even more stupid answer - stamp on it a couple of hundred times. It'll at least leave you feeling less frustrated until you look at all of the pieces on the floor and realise it ain't gonna work at all now - and the shop wont take it either.
Yeah...good luck.

Keep on shifting the hold back and forth and then try to hold the center select button for about 15 seconds. If that doesn't work then try holding down all the buttons at once for 20 seconds.
The same problem has happened me a few times, and thats what worked for me! Hope it helps you!

ok, this might confuse u a little, but go to the store, and buy a non-ipod mp3 player because ipods are far worse then any other pmp player, i have resently tested the 12 highest rated and i came up with ipod in 2nd to last place and the best was the wolverine mvp, coming with all the accessories, all features except a clock, and it can play almost any format, truely a great player, the only thing thats bad is that it is a little bulky, and if u want somein smaller get the zen vision:m which is almost as good but is missing a few things and is just a little bigger then the commercialy advertised ipod
