Being a woman with middle age knocking on my back door, I've become very interested in the experience of sexuality of middle aged women. I have decided to do some in depth research about this and to, perhaps, write articles about it. I would be interested both in what middle aged women have to say about their experience of sexuality, and in what others perceive (especially men) middle aged women's sexuality to be. So, how do we perceive our own sexuality, and how is it perceived by others? That's my question.

Mr. Mustard (who should change his name to Clearly Clueless) doesn't like to see 45 50 year old sk*nks? Excuse me? Yeah, I can see this is getting off to a good positive start!

It doesn't get any better than middle age for women. You clearly know what it is you want out of life. You don't have to worry about unwanted pregnancies or impressing others. You look into the mirror can see all of your faults and absolutely love them. You realize that the way you look is hard won and the honour is in knowing yourself and loving yourself and showing this with confidence and class.

well honestly, if you havn't had much sexual experience as a woman in your 20's, then your 30's and 40's can be quite a sexually liberating time for a woman.
I happen to prefer and enjoy my sexuality as an older woman. Not only am I more relaxed about it, I am more experienced and experimental. I am married of course, but we are very open in the bedroom with each other.
I perceive my own sexuality as magnetic. If I am satisfied in the bedroom, that shows on the outside. You glow a little more, you have more confidence, you feel you can dress a little sexier.. I have many married friends who fizzle when it comes to their own sex lives and they are in awe that my husband and I are so very active..They often wonder, why I look younger and why I look so happy.
I think others perception on middle age sexuality varies. There are some people that might have that "Good for you" type of attitude towards it and some people who might think it is gross and uncalled for. I say, it is your life, your body and your sexuality. Some women show their sexuality through the clothes that they wear, and sometimes they can be a little too provacative, and honestly, i'd rather see a younger body in provacative clothing than a middle aged person. But to each their own. You let me live my life, i'll let you live yours!

First off, let me say that all the sexual cliches like "Barely Legal, Sweet Sixteen,& Sex is Better at 30" were created by men, for men.
I am 49 which is I hope, middle aged, because I think 98 is old enough for anyone to live!
My sexuality is MINE now, and after years of doing all that silly "Bridget Jones" stuff like bikini waxes, expensive lingerie, etc., I am finding my self relaxed and appreciative of honest, beautiful sex like never before in my life.
As Adventur... said, there are some really wonderful men who can appreciate a middle-aged woman, as well.
Some of you teenage BOYS who post so ridiculously will one day look back in shame, too. You've got a world of learning ahead of you.
Good luck.

I will start by saying that I am 33. I don't know the definition of middle age. In the past few years I have become much more interested in sex in general and it has gotten a lot better. It was always good so getting better is an extra bonus. I feel as I get older I gain more confidence and I just know what I am doing so much more than in the past.

I'm 48, and having the best sex of my life. I'm finally able to let go and really enjoy every single moment of sex! Now anything goes, it's fun, and now I love being sensual and passionate. I use to look pretty incredible, but was so hung up on my body and had such a bad self-image, I could never really let go...now I still look pretty good, but I really don't care what people think about me. BTW, my sex drive is the highest it's ever been, some weeks I'd like to have sex many times every day....and luckily, my boyfriend is only too willing...

What do you consider 'middle age'?
I can see all the younger people with the eeeuuuwww reaction to my observation.
I'm almost 54, and trust me sweetie...it gets better with age. No more baby worries, I'm comfortable in my own skin. To tell you the honest truth, sexuality to me at 54 is no different than it was at 24, 34 or 44. It's the respect you have for yourself that gives others their perceptions. Love yourself and others will love you.

I find middle aged women to be incredibly sexy and desirable. They exude a certain confidence and maturity about themselves that is intoxicating to those perceptive enough to appreciate them. There's a definite statement of quality about middle aged women and I find that I prefer being with them over the younger women. I value experience, maturity and skills honed over the years from practicing the craft of sexiness and sensuality. Additionally, it is true that the mind is the greatest sex organ in the human body and a keen mind as evidenced by a sense of humor and articulated compassion combined with a middle aged lady's physical charms is just too irresistible. As for the comments of "mustard", he just doesn't know what he's talking about nor missing.

Middle age woman should be a little more lady like and consrevative. I don't like to see 45 50 year old sk*nks it just doesn't look right.
NOT TO SAY THEY CAN'T BE HOT, BUT LIKE I SAID IT JUST DOESN'T LOOK RIGHT OR FEEL RIGHT TO HEAR OR SEE A OVERSEXUAL 45 OR 50 YEAR OLD
