Just ignore people that mocked you. Its about time people were a bit more respectable and grateful for tachers such as yourself. Even I know how important teachers are to the progression of us as a race and im only 17! I'm sure you are doing a great job, its tough being a nrew teacher i'm sure, i did a two week work experience in a school and it was tough but just be yourself and im sure your pupils, whatever their ages will learn to respect and appreciate you.
Good Luck with the teaching and stick to it!
Imagine the world without teachers...

Don't let it worry you. Spelling and grammer have been used as a means of surpression for centuries. I have worked with people who gave up writing because they did not feel confident with spelling or grammer. I suspect many people who feel it important to challenge spelling and grammatical mistakes are themselves lacking in confidence to take on board the ideas being put forward.
As a primary school teacher you have the power to ensure kids don't give up on writing because they don't write tidily, are not good spellers or confuse commas and semi colons and fullstops etc. If you support the creative concentrate on the positive you will be a good teacher.
I saw a postcard a couple of years back from one of the dyslexia charities it showed a pencil covered in barbs. Spelling and grammer obsessives do that to people.

dont worry about those peanuts in here. teachers do a good job with what they have to work with and i applaud them. i would like to see some of the people that gave you smart *** comments controle a class of 30, teach them and then go home and have to mark papers ready for the next day.

I think a lot of people are just spelling Nazis! Don't worry about it. Some people just like to nitpick and tear other people down because they feel like that builds them up. I know people with PhDs who constantly misspell words so don't let the jerks out there get you down.

Because you can leave them miles behind you it is called jealousy. So don't worry
about it be sorry for people who have a jealous nature. I know quite a few and I can tell you their marriages are not happy lots of them end up getting divorced. Jealousy is a terrible affliction to have. Be happy.

You're right Maggie. As a teacher of our children you are, indeed, one of the blessed. Hang in there and don't let these insensitive fools cause you grief.

I know.
I asked a question concerning my best friend earlier and people were accusing me of being jealous of her.
People need to stop being so mean to people they have never seen in their life.

Because it is so easy. Tolerance requires constructive engagement - not so easy. I have been insensitive, and still learning.
