Translucent is a an aspect of clarity/opacity, whereas blue/not blue is a property of color. These two properties are independent, so that it can be both, one or the other, or neither. I'm sitting next to the window looking East, and the sky is blue. But it's not opaque, as I can see through it, so that it's translucent.

Anyone can see the sky is blue on a clear day and black at night. The sky is not a thing covering the Earth. It is a direction you look. It is not correct to say the sky is clear. It is correct to say the AIR is clear. At night we see clear through the AIR to see the same black sky that the astronauts can see even in the day time. During the day we see blue light scattered from air molecules in the sky.

The color reflecting off of something allows us to give it a label of a particular color. Therefore the sky is blue.
If it were "translucent" it would appear black.

Because the light reflecting to your eyes appears blue.
You can't actually expect us to believe that you look up at the sky every day and never see the color blue. Unless you're color blind, and if you are, sorry!

I guess it depends on your definition of the sky. Also sometimes it's red (sunset), or green (storms), sometimes white, gray, black, or blue. I guess it depends on how much light there is, and what the light is hitting before it hits your eyes.
