I've tried adjusting the truss rod but I don't think it can be loosened any more. Loosening it definitely helped with the rattling, especially in the open string, but there is still a small amount of rattling there and it seems to be worse at some of the higher frets. I can't find any other adjustments that would raise the string height. Any help is appreciated. thank you.

slide you finger up and down the strings at each fret, identifying the offending fret(s) , then get a VERY FINE file and CAREFULLY file it down EVENLY,, avoid damaging the fretboard..

.when done make sure there no sharp edges, or spurs left that could lead to string breakage

keep in mind some necks are rounded. so filing those types evenly could be a bit frustrating.

if you keep trying to raise the strings to fix it, you'll soon find alot of the playability of the instrument is gone, and it'll be a chore to play.

if that frightens you, take it to a luthier

You need to take it to a shop and have the guitar set up. I assume you have an acoustic guitar and the rattling could be from a variety of problems such as:

-a "kink" in the fingerboard at the neck/body joint
-one or more frets popped out of their slots
-high frets
-low bridge saddle

All this stuff is relatively easy to fix but it MUST be done by someone that knows what they are doing to avoid irreversible damage.

Take your guitar to Guitar center or any music store that can adjust the neck of the guitar. If the neck of the guitar hasn't been adjusted for a while it will start to bow. You might possible need a fret job as well. They should be able to tell you for sure.
