From a sociological perspective (the book Sex in America), the vast majority of the population marry people of their own race, religion, and socioeconomic status. Relationships where the partners are very different from each other generally do not lead to marriage.
Do you believe this is true? Do you know of any relationships where, for example, the woman has a PhD and the man is a fry cook?

Laura S, no need to get snippy. While I am very happy that your relationship has lasted so long, it is statistically out of the norm.
