You can keep more then one female betta together, but if you have a male he can be with no other bettas.
A male or female betta can be kept with any fish that does not have flowing fins. A flowing fin fish makes them think it is another betta and they will kill it.

Short answer: NO.
Long answer: Male betas will attack other males, and they don't get along with females unless its time to breed. Goldfish should NEVER be kept with a beta, for multiple reasons. Goldfish grow MUCH bigger than betas so eventually they'd turn on them, goldfish like cold water and betas need warm water, they eat different types of food, and so on. Plus, people typically put betas into smaller tanks like one or two gallons, while a goldfish would die not too long after being put into something that small, since they're poop machines and load up the water with ammonia. Goldfish need 20 gallons of water PER FISH if they're the fancy kind (long fins, googly eyes) and more like 50 (or better yet, a pond) if they're the long skinny type.
Beta fish like to be alone, but if you want to give them a companion, a shrimp or small freshwater crab can be interesting, or if you have a larger tank like a 10 gallon, then a cory cat can be good. Cory cats like to stay along the bottom of the tank, so they eat any missed food, and they're rather charming.
The typical trigger for their fighting instinct is long flowing fins, so any fish that's colorful with long fins is a bad tankmate (so no guppies and so forth). Plus a lot of those fish can swim better than the beta, which means the beta will get picked on, rather than them attacking the other fish. Not good news either way.

Male bettas will fight and have to be kept separated. Females should only be kept with males during spawning and must be remove from the tank immediately after laying the eggs or the male will kill her.
Goldfish and bettas have different temperature requirements - the betta is a warm-water tropical (76-80), the goldfish are a coldwater fish (65-74).
Goldfish are best kept with only goldfish - and in large tanks, as they are high waste producers. Male bettas can be kept with other fish as long as they are peaceful and not fin nippers. Female bettas can be housed together as long as they are added at the same time or in groups of three or more - even females can be tempermental and will pick at the others to establish a pecking order. A lone addition will be singled out and harrassed - a group will have the aggression spread between them.

The long colorful flowing fins are the male beta. The hort finned fish is the female. The males are very teritorial and will fight to the death if put together. The females can betogether but not if a male is present. A male n female will also fight to the death sometimes if he has not yet built a bubblenest for her to lay the eggs in.
Worth doing a net search for if your going to breed fish.

You cant have 2 males or one male one female living in the same tank. They will fight, sometimes to the death. You can get some guppies as long as they don't have long fins(betta will confuse it for another betta) and the tank is at least ten gallons. You shouldn't have a problem with that, you can also have some ghost shrimp

bettas really prefer to be alone. you can keep female bettas together and most of the time they live fine together. males don't live well with anything especially in a small tank. goldfish would be a very bad choice as a friend for bettas. they are poor swimmers and male goldfish tend to be fin nippers so you would end up with a male betta with nipped fins and/or a beat up goldfish. if you want to get a friend for you betta i suggest a plant like java fern.
if you are just working with a small tank there are lots of fish you can keep in small groups -- just educate yourself.

You can't keep a male betta in the same tank with any other betta whether male or female.
You can keep it with fish which are peaceful, a lil less colourful and which don't have long flowing fins.
Do not keep a betta with a goldfish.

No a Beta will beat any other small fishes Azz! We thought we would put 2 different colored betas together in this plant looking bowl to be all flashy and one ate the other. Also make sure you don't cover the top or leave room for air, my wife learned the hard way and drowned our fish, I think she is the only woman in history to drown a fish!
