...good question... I always liked to take the ball out about 350 yards or so... hang it from a tree and let it swing back and forth... come back and I'd recommend the S&W .357. You'll need to use two hands... takes a few shots to get'er cited-in. "good shoot'n"

think of the basketball as a head. but your strong hand on the face and your weak hand on an ear. bring it up to your sholder and then extend. make sure that your flixing your wrist. its like waving the ball goodbye and make sure you follow through. thats just the basic shot though. layups and hook shots have a whole diffferent foot work and way to shoot the ball. 3 pointers need a lot more stength to push the ball upward. practice shooting laying down on the floor first. the ball should always come back to you. this will help your arms get used to throwing the ball up.

My summary of good shooting, from the very detailed presentations I give at basketball camps, comes down to this. Shoot one-handed. Lift your shot so that your elbow finishes above your eyebrow and freeze your follow through until the ball hits the basket. I call out "lift and freeze" at my practices and games many times to my players.

well put the hand you right with under the ball and the other either under it or on the opposite side and practise that several times for a perfect set shot.
