Please read my other question (Am I wrong to hate my job?!) before answering this one.
Well I quit, that friday (2nd), I went in in person and grabbed my things, announced that I quit, and was told my paycheck would be mailed to me today (fri 9th). The office hours are 8:30-5. I called at 415 to ask if my check made it in the mail, I was informed paychecks aren't mailed, ya gotta come get them. I said well that's good to know 45 minutes before closing, I'm glad someone called and told me considering it had been a week since I quit. No one was going to tell me I have to come pick it up?!? So I said in that case I will be down shortly to get it. The office mgr then said they weren't in yet, she would call me when they were. Now it's 530, office is closed to incoming calls, and I have no paycheck. I don't know how they weren't in yet, the boss writes them up himself, the blanks are right there in his drawer.

I kinda needed that check to, you know, get around this weekend, pay bills, put gas in the car.. Now I won't even get it till monday? Doesn't this kind of go against the paperwork I signed saying paydays were friday??

By law your employer must pay you. If they do not proceed to give you your check tell them you will report them to the department of labor. after hearing this they will most surly write you a check.

The answer depends on which state you live in. In some states, the employer has 72 hours to pay an employee who quits (24 hours to pay an employee who is fired). Other states have different laws - some allow the employer to wait until the next regular pay period. Check with the department that oversees your state's wage and hour laws - it should be listed on the state home page. If you didn't receive your check in a timely manner (including all owed hours, accrued paid time off, etc.), you may have legal recourse.

I didn't read your first post, but in answer to your question, depending on what state you live in your final check was due to you by the next regular pay day. I would suggest that if they do not have it ready for you on Monday (since they have already closed today there isn't much you can do) then you file a claim with the Wage and labor office for your state. (check on the internet for the location and filing procedures) Don't argue with them, sounds like they are playing games and you need to get your money from them now. They don't have the right to dance around and play with your wages.
