Well, it's been 48 days since my last cycle. I am feeling bloated, tired (exhausted!), and have had a couple of cravings. I am extremely moody and am breaking out. Sounds exactly like being pregnant, right? These are virtually the same symptoms I had with my son. The only problem? I have an IUD, and I took a preg. test about 3 days ago that showed neg. I also have a ton of crampy pain in my ovary/uterus area. The preg. test I did in the evening, not with first morning urine. Is it possible to have a tubal pregnancy, and not have it show on the test? Oh, and we don't have medical insurance yet, so it's not as easy as going to a doctor...

I would definitely also suggest going to a clinic. Here is a search engine to find a free clinic near you:

http://www.plannedparenthood.org/

or you can call: 1800 230-PLAN

Or 1800 395 HELP which is affiliated with First Choice Women's Centers

Both are free...

Good luck!

Take another pregnancy test to be sure you aren't pregnant and make sure you follow the instructions and timing of the test precisely. If you are pregnant... a pregnancy test would read positive two weeks after the unprotected intercourse. If that test is negative as well than you can rule out pregnancy. Even if the pregnancy was ectopic (outside the uterus), a pregnancy test would come out positive. Urine tests look for hcg hormone...this is a hormone only produced during pregnancy and it doesn't matter where the pregnancy is.

Also, check for the IUD string in the vaginal canal coming out of the cervical os. The cervix feels like a nose... feel around it for the string. Regardless of what you do at home for self diagnoses, it sounds like your problem requires lab work and a gynecologist to sort through the symptoms. You may need an ultrasound even if you aren't pregnant to rule out other possible diagnosis. Go to www.plannedparenthood.org for the nearest clinic. Depending on where you live they may provide financial assistance. Or call your local county health department which usually serves the community on a sliding scale. Good luck and be sure to take care of yourself.

If you have Mirena (the IUD with hormones) it could just be the hormones in the IUD. Mirena also results in less frequent periods.
If you have the copper IUD, see a doctor as soon as possible. If don't have insurance, go to planned parenthood, or even to a pregnancy support clinic. They have blood tests, which are way more accurate, and ultrasound machines, so they can detect an etopic pregnancy.
Sometimes an etopic pregnancy doesn't show as positive when you take a test, and an undetected etopic pregnancy can kill you. It's better to be safe than sorry.

its possible that for some reason the test was a dud...Do you have any planned parenthoods around you? Or any kind of free clinics that could do tests for you??? I would look into it because IF there is ANY chance you are pregnant ( which, By the way, my mother got pregnant with ME when she had an IUD so they arent fool proof) you need to get it checked out before you do anything that could harm your fetus...AND if you have a tubal pregnancy, the longer time that goes by, the more likely chance of it rupturing and you either dying or losing your tubes or both....Good luck!!
