On thursday the 8th,i got to see the queen really close up. She's a lovely lady, and really little. I'm glad to call myself english knowing that her majesty is a big part of this country. I was very excited as i was so close to her i could touch her, what a honor it really was.

Altogether i took a good 60 photos of the queen.Which i will be getting done real soon. My finger was clicker happy that day.Im still amazed about the fact i saw her, as only o few weeks ago i wrote to her for a photo for my nan (who is 82 and loves the queen). The queen did in fact write back(well the lady in waiting but it was from the queen) with a lovely letter and a photo for my nan.Which i framed and sent them to my beloved granma,awwwwwwwwww.

Congratulations. Yes, she is a lovely lady. I saw her a few months ago. She carried on 'performing her duties' walking on grass in the pouring rain, and took her time chatting to ones. Hope your photos come out really well, a memory you will always treasure.

That is so cool I am jealous.
What an honor and now you have something really cool to share with your children and grand-children one day.
I hope you got someone to take a picture of you at the event so you can make a note "The day I met the Queen"

That`s great ! That was obviously your reward for being so kind to your Nan and writing for the photograph. Yes she is very small isn`t she, you don`t actually appreciate it until you see her `in the flesh`. I am so glad for you.

Could not agree more. My Wife & I got an invitation to the Garden Party in 1999 and we have never forgotten it. The invitation is printed in gold and in a gold coloured frame.

I saw her too, years ago, when she was pregnant with Prince Andrew. She rode past me in an open carriage in a parade. I could have reached out and touched her, too, but I didn't. Had too much respect for her to do that.
It was something that I never forgot.

I think many of us pretend to be unimpressed by royalty etc. but it is really exciting to see someone like that, especially the top lady herself. My husband had seen her really close to and he's not really a monarchist but he was surprised at her small size and how vivid she looked in real life and how it gave him a real buzz.

Lucky you! I've only seen her from a distance, but I was lucky enough to be introduced to Prince Charles, who is much better looking than his photos. My husband was so tongue-tied, he couldn't get a word out! lol
