Indianapolis - For months it's been a well-kept secret. But now Warren Township Schools confirm a disturbing case of sex in the classroom. The illicit activity has parents concerned and a district at a loss for words.
Shop class gives students a chance to learn outside of the book. But at Warren Township's Raymond Park Middle School, two students engaged in illicit acts in view of goggled eyes.
13 Investigates was tipped off by a disturbed resident who writes:
"...during school hours in a classroom with an experienced teacher present, two sixth graders completed the act of intercourse...at least ten students were witnesses. No disciplinary actions were taken against the teacher... All teachers were told to keep quiet."

It's appalling but nothing surprises me anymore. I've seen and heard a lot about what some students have done and gotten away with in school.
I thought the story said they were in a SHOP class...that article refers to it as a "LAB". Well in a workshop, there are plenty of places to hide and get away with something. A teacher could be caught up with teaching a student to use a piece of machine, etc. and the last thing on their mind is worrying about whether some student is going to get down and do the dirty deed in the back of the class.
The school recommended expulsion of the students. My guess is the board didn't. I've seen kids assault (with scissors, pencils etc.) other kids and they are expected to say "sorry" and carry on. That is totally unacceptable.
Sometimes the Board itself tells the principal and school not to expel students...so it's up to the parents to push for it. Of course the parents of the students INVOLVED here obviously would fight NOT to have their kids expelled, but if my kids were witness and didn't speak up, firstly, I know they would immediately tell me, and secondly, as a parent I would demand this of the school, at the very least!
Sure everyone blames the teacher but come on, do you really think the teacher would allow such a thing??
The school obviously didn't want the media to get a hold of it and make it a fiasco as they are doing now.
No one ever reports the TRUTH...it's boring on it's own unless there is a bunch of tabloid bull made up to go along with it.
It's time the public says "oh shut up" to that type of reporting and stops sensationalizing it. The facts alone speak volumes that they don't need to make up stuff or leave out details to make insinuations that aren't true.

the answers were more interesting than the question itself. why? who knows? anything could, would and does happen. you have not heard, seen, witnessed it all. this is a small planet and lots of weirdos both inside and outside of our immediate circles. what else goes on and it is not reported -- seen, witnessed! the creator only knows! now -- last but not least what do you want me to do with this kind of "news information" -- I am far away, i have no connection to those kids, probably they did enjoy each others company, the class enjoyed the show. the teacher cared less. of course i do not approve. but who am i? the simple "Joe" who does not want to get bothered or disturbed by such non-sense.
hope it helps, whomever cares or does not care. voila, my share of thoughts.

You cant always believe the News . They only put what is going to draw attention . You never see the good things ,unless you go on sites and look for yourself .
And that is hard to believe , unless they have perverts in that school . And to think people pay all them taxes for these so called schools .

the way I heard the report it said,,,,the classroom is "L" shape
and the children were not in view of the teacher......
but I would think that the commotion the other kids would make
that the teacher would be aware.

It's crazy; when I was in sixth grade, we had just the previous year found out what sex even WAS; now kids are having it at that age in the CLASSROOM? Anyone think our society has become too permissive YET???

I would say the teacher is truly not in tune with her class of students.
This is sickening, what kind of kids are we raising, or are they being raised.
Most likely the other class members knew about it and covered for them, therefore the teacher was not aware, but I think I would have to say where is--, where is--!
