If it's your best friend I would hope you like him. If you mean he is attracted to you physically, then gently confront him about it. It's always painful when two good friends come to this point in the road. You may have to part ways, otherwise you will not feel as a friend anymore but feel awkward in certain situations.

I used to have that problem and have that problem still sometimes. I would tell him or that you are NOT interested in someone like him. That you are NOT ready for a person like him in your life right now. Tell him that you will be there for him as a good friend no matter what and try and help him and get him through the tough times. DONT lie to him but just tell him nonchalantly that you are not interested. That he will find someone that is his type. Or something like that.

tell him he's your best friend, and that you want to keep him in your life as long you can, but that if you start getting romantic with him, you're afraid things are going to change and you'll lose the friendship you have with him now. after you tell him that and he accepts it, it's going to be up to you to be sensitive to his feelings about you when it comes to dating other boys. don't push the dates into his face...give him time to recuperate from the let-down of not having a romance with you. your friendship will survive and be its most healthy if you remain honest with each other. good luck!

This once happened to me. . . but i was the one doing he liking. If you just tell them that you will be better friends with them then they will probably be happy. That is what my friend told me and he is my BEST friend. Although I don't like him anymore, I'm still glad he told me.

if he tries to make a move or something very gently tell him off. and say that u only want to be friends. its really hard, but ya gotta do it unless u wanna marry him!
