Umm no.... Young is a rookie and not worth a high price yet. Valverde has to win his closeing spot back from Julio. I dont think he will have a problem but I also dont think he will be a very good closer. Verlander is a Second Year fireballer for a good team. Stay with him

That is a trade.
without knowing each team's needs it's hard to judge. But Verlander is still young and unpredictable but he has the stuff and the team behind him to win 18 games, K-130-140 with an ERA in the mid 3's, solid but not spectacular.
Valverde is the closer, his WHIP and ERA can kill you - so if these are in your league's stats watch out that you are not jeopardizing two categories to get 1.
Chris B, is almost an unknown right now - he will be the starter and took the same chance on him as a back up and I am guessing he will be about a 20HR-20SB guy but he also plays in a league with some pretty decent pitchers.
It depends on your needs. In one league I have one closer and none are left on waivers, I wouldn't make this trade for Valverde. I will wait it out until one of the marginal closers blows a couple of games. Keep checking the status of Turnbow - he may get another shot to redeem himself this year.

No.. Valverde lost his closer role last season, and Young isn't worth Verlander.

verlander is 200 innings year with a suddenly good team with
a very good manager --
valverde has not pitched over 60 innings in any of past four
years -- he has the 'backs closer job to start the season --
IF he stays healthy he could surprise --
young is 23 y/o -- great prospect -- figures to get 500 a/b

i love this trade. verlander might not be as good as last year, could have a 4.00 era. teams are figuring him out after they faced him. also, you are getting back one of the best outfield prospects. Young is a 20-20 guy. .270 AVG, 20 HR, 20 SB. also, i like valverde's chances of breaking out to his original stats. K's and Sv are coming your way!!
This guy might accept this trade. verlander is over-rated and valverde's stats could scare their owner. hopefully, he/she falls for it and accept your trade

you have a large form of pitching intensity, so soaking up the loss at SP isn't a large deal. And Rios could be an improve. Sosa is a non-element interior the deal. the undertaking is which you at the instant are not getting as much as you would be able to desire to. you would be waiting to leverage Zito into somebody greater effective than Rios, or a minimum of greater good. That reported, the commerce might in actuality income you in all probability.

You are giving up a proven starter for an inconsistent reliever and an unproven rookie so I would not do this trade if I were you.
