In afterthought my judgment is mainly on appearance and behavior. It is never on opinions or beliefs. I actually am Christian.

Not that this makes it any better.

Seriously, go Chrisitan.
I can't stand religion, or magic.
But if you remember
Let he who is without sin (defect) cast the first stone
and
do unto others as you would have them do unto you
and
there but for the grace of god go I
You'll get the idea
and your heart will be filled with compassion instead.
and learn to turn the same lovely thoughts on yourself-
we are all our own worst critics.
Love thyself too.

Rather than breaking the "horrible" habit of being judgmental, consider this: being judgmental gives you the ability to evaluate any situation or person for potential dangers. It is a crucial aspect of critical thinking, which is nature's way of protecting you in all situations where you may be threatened in some way. No, friend, rather than trying to cease your judgmental ways, it would be far better if you would practice self-restraint and discretion. Just because the alarm bells are going off in your mind doesn't mean you have to voice your thoughts. Pay attention to whatever messages you're processing, just don't share them in situations where you end up either embarrassing, angering or hurting someone. That way, you practice one of the greatest acts of self-preservation - you avoid embarrassment yourself and the potential loss of friendship. Good luck.

May I suggest that you take a deep breath and think before you say anything ~ better still think "If I was in that situation could I do it better?" or "Did they ask to be put in that situation?" From a personal point of view, I was very judgmental about silly things like how a person looked, the quality of their clothes, hair, speech etc,, and then I got thrown a huge lesson in life ~ I had to walk in their shoes ~ I certainly learned from that. Now when I hear myself thinking 'untoward thoughts' I remind myself that I don't live that person's life and really try and be more compassionate...it is worth trying ~ Hope this helps, good luck! :)

I deeply recommend this i'm very very addicted myself to this demon i'm 23 and have been taking it for 2 a million/2 years nonetheless i dont have close to the tolerance you do i take 8, 7.5's an afternoon it began with kidney stones. i choose to stop so badly as you do yet no person i recommend no person knows how do i admit guilt? on your situation if i became into you i'd bypass to the emergency room in the present day they'd desire to help you! Your drained worn down and have offered your soul! you have been doing this lots longer than me have mercy on your soul each and every little thing has to come returned to an end and you recognize that.

This is not something that will happen in one day. You will have to work on this over time but you can do it. First, is there something about yourself that you are unhappy with? Is there some reason why you are so judgemental to begin with?

Second, you are aware of your situation so right away when you begin thinking something about someone, stop yourself, tell yourself that wasn't right, say something nice. Do this continuously. Start complimenting people instead. Continue to do this. This is a thought process that must be continuous. Good luck.

Practice taking the position of a neutral observer. Practice mock debates with people you trust, but switch sides in the debate. Learn to play the role of "devils advocate". If there are social issues that you feel strongly about, try looking at the other side of the issue.

The best thing I can think of is before you say anything put yourself in that persons shoes..is what you're going to say be hurtful or can it be taken wrong. Kind of like the Golden Rule.."Treat others the way you want to be treated"...in other words if you don't want people to be judgmental towards you then be careful what you say.

How about realizing that the way you see other people is a reflection of the way you see yourself. We really do treat others the way we treat ourselves. When we're good to ourselves, we tend to be good to others. Same with the bad. If we're tolerant with ourselves, we're more tolerant of others. Truly, the way we see the world is a reflection of our own characters. We all have our own "filters" that we view life through. These are formed by the accumulation of every thought we've ever had. Be careful of how you think. "The world is not how it seems, nor is it otherwise".

The true thing is thinking. When you think before you say something then you may not let your words into the open.
