I have a 1965 chevy c20 and a 1990 tbi chevy 350.?

Question

I want to put the 350 in the truck. What do I need to do to hook up the fuel injection system, I also was thinking about just putting a carb on it what would I have to do to switch it. what one will be better the tbi or the carb. Then is there anyway I can put powersteering in. Also will the 350 bolt to the stock four speed trans.

I suspect you may need to replace the distributor with an older HEI unit. I THINK yours is controlled by the computer on 1990 vehicles. Check it out.

The 350 will bolt right up to the trans. The only real difference is how the intake manifold bolts to the engine; I would recommend going online to Jegs, order up the correct intake and carb, and forget the TBI injection. Will have more power, easier to hook up! The power steering setup from just about any '60's or 70's small block vehicle will work; Summit has complete kits. Check it out! Sounds like a great project!

in case you rebuilt the throttle physique, did you replace the gas rigidity regulator? have you ever examined the gas rigidity on the intake line with the regulator in place? provided that gas bypass isn't a topic out of your question, do not undertaking some gas clear out. If the EGR is caught open or partually open, this might reason stalling at idle. you would be able to desire to disconnect it on the intake port and plug the intake hollow and attempt back. If it runs normaly at idle, replace the EGR valve.

dude....stick with the fuelie. all you have to do is use the '90 engine wiring harness & computer. make sure all the proper sensors are in place & find a way to graft the fuel pump into the tank.
