I see these crazy cakes on TV. Beautiful, but I hate icing (except cream cheese or whipped cream) and I imagine many of those taste awful ...........

Yeah, I can't stand too much frosting and icing, its too sweet and you don't taste the cake at all. I love cream cheese frosting. So I'd definitely prefer taste, a simple cake that tastes good, like peach upside down cake.

Taste, most cakes that look good taste terrible because of the food coloring and the icing.

I LOVE a great tasting cake.
My grandma didn't have very good eyesight but she could make a German chocolate cake that was better than heaven!!
