i bought a verizon phone off the streets from some guy i dont know he said he needed the money really bad. im looking to sell it online but i dont know how the person to buy it would put it on his or her account.

take the battery off. Take note of the S/N number located in the cavity where the battery was. Call verizon and tell them the S/N number. They should be able to tell you whether it's stolen or not. If it's not, they can use the S/N number to activate it for anyone.
