NORMAN this question is a No Brainer, DeNiro romps it in,
BUT having said that Eastwood has been and still is one of the all time greats, what with his spaghetti type westerns...
and "Any which way but loose series of films" they were so funny......♥

Robert DeNiro by far. He has spanned acting apperances from drama, comedy, suspense and any other I surely missed.
De Niro has the ability to be the bad guy as well as the good guy, although it is associated with being the bad guy. He has an incredible ability to adapt to the character, maybe not as good as Pacino, but clearly better than Eastwood.
Some actors get stuck with their more memorable performances so that we associate Clint Eastwood with Westerns and Detectives; De Niro with the Mafia. Both have made a good contribution to film history. To end I also recognize Mr. Eastwood being a very good director and also producer.
I don't have the info on hand but maybe you should check who has won more Academy Awards or nominations. (Although that's subjective)

De Niro by FAR! Eastwood can't act at all....he always had the same face and tone of voice. I love Robert De Niro!!

robert de niro + he looks better even though hes old....clint eastwood looks like hes lived through the great depression threes times in a row , worked in a coal mine for ten years, strecthed his skin, and woke up one moring and put on a suit.....but i agree with the one person....excellent director
