I'm a college student, and a couple of my friends and I want to get a hotel for the weekend and sightsee in San Fran. Any ideas on a good, cheap, and relatively safe motel in the area? we've done some research but get very conflicting reviews from customers who have stayed in the lower budget motels... any info would be appreciated! thanks!

On Lombard Street in the Marina district you can find clean and reasonable (but not dirt cheap) family motels. Some are name brand, some are not. Less than $100/night is considered a good deal in SF. Places near the Mission district are sometimes dangerous. I would stay away from Tenderloin district and hotels near downtown. Downtown can be scary at night but if you get back to your hotel before dark and stay there, it should be ok.

if you don't mind sharing a large room with other travellers, try a hostel. san francisco has hella hostels all over the city. the best quality ones are hostelling international, but they have other independent ones as well. the nice ones are about $20-30 per night, but avoid the $15 a night ones. they are scary and in rough hoods. look up hostelling international online for sf.

i don't be responsive to approximately the two of those passes, yet i be responsive to that Fisherman's Wharf is a great deal of relaxing! Coit Tower, Lombard St, Alcatraz, and citadel element are additionally properly worth seeing. The cable vehicles are an allure themselves, as properly as a handy and much less intense priced way of having around areas of SF. Be warned, they are on a constrained path, so %. your strolling shoes as properly. SF is a appealing city - savour!

I think any would be expensive but you could leave your doors unlocked even when you went out and all you would have to worry about is your room getting redecorated.
