14 is slightly young IMO for any kind of serious dating, but I would be open to letting you do a few things together like a movie or homework and that sort of thing. I would just tell your mom you want to ask a girl out to do something but that you wanted to ask her (your mom) first because you didn't know how she would react. That will show maturity and respect for her place in your life and she should at the very least appreciate that. Don't go nuts if she balks, accept what she says and realize you are very short time period away from getting a yes answer, again showing maturity. And please don't make the mistake of possibly ruining your life and hers by trying sex while young. This is yet another issue of maturity and responsibility.

Hey, well my kid aint old enough on that issue but here what you can do fo ryou parents part
Mom Or dad there's this girl i really like and i was wanting to ask her out. Is it ok with you for me to do this?
They may let you or may think your not yet ready for this. Dont ge mad if they say no. Ask them very calmly why if they choose no.
With you throwing a fit over a no it will show them you are not ready for that kind of responsibility. Just Say Ok and I understand, give a lil i love you and head off. That gesture will help in them gving in later on.
Being friends wont hurt either if they say no.
Had to add, with you asking they will respect you more. I would my child when the time comes.

Personally I would let them go out because its all about trust and that is something very important between parents and kids. I had to learn that the hard way I'm only 15 and I have a 4 month old girl.

14 is okay if your mom or dad picks up and drops off. Start with a movie, then maybe you can work your way to having her over at your house sometimes (of course while the parents are there)

I don't have boys but, I will not let my daughters date until they are 16. Just ask your parents if you can date and they will tell you, never be afraid to ask your parents anything, they are there to guide you

I wouldn't let my 14 year old son or daughter go out at all. Fourteen is too young to be going out in my house.

14's OK. Just tell them you would like to take this girl you know to the pictures or whatever.
Be prepared for your dad to make "kissy kissy" noises.
