We flew from IL to FL when our daughter was about 8 months old. Usually babies scream on airplanes because their ears hurt, so either nurse, bottle feed or use a pacifier, especially during take-off and landing. Also, make sure you notify the airline ahead of time you are going to be flying with an infant, even if you are not buying a seat for them the airline needs the info in case there was a crash.

I have been told its not safe to take a baby on an airplane until they are 12 months old, but sometimes you may need to it really just depends on wether you think it is safe for the baby and how far you are travelling for!

relies upon on the place ur going. if ur going to someplace this is not extra that 3 hours long, than no seat is mandatory. on the different hand if ur gonna fly to the different area of the earth. GET an added seat. u can save that 500 dollars by technique of having one among u upward thrust up go have a walk with yet another sit down the infant down.

old enough to understand how to behave. one of the levels of hell is being stuck on an airplane with a screaming child.

There's no rule, it's what you're comfortable. Some people have to travel with newborns by necessity when they have just completed a newborn private adoption, for example.
