I felt pretty spiffy after I beat Myst and Myst 3 in a weekend all by myself. Neither one lived up to the "OMG IT'S HARD" hype though, really.

This might sound kinda weird, but Halo 2 made me a better strategizer. You see, I play the game competetively and go to tournaments with my team. We have to think of strategies and positions for each player and we have call-outs for different parts of maps. The game can also be a "mind game," if you say the right thing at the right time to the tright person, then they may get mad or irritated and play worse, thus giving you an easier time to kill them and win the game. Oh, and the guy that posted about chess, this is the video & online games category, you talking about chess, that belongs in the board game category, good post though.

I play Guild Wars online.

Everytime I play I accomplish somethign I feel pretty good. Because in certain aspects you not only have to know what skills you are using, but be smart enough to know when to fight.

Its pretty cool that way, plus it helps that the Arena company that runs its free playing service does something different every weekend.

You almost never get bored and you start actually becoming quicker and you think more on your feet when you are surrounded by monsters or other players that wish to kill you.

chess.. you see, chess is a strategy game. chess is more of "thinking ahead", a game of preparation and sacrifices. in the course of the game, you have to prepare, sacrifice, make some adjustment then go for the kill. just like our life. we have to be prepared, ready to make sacrifices, flexible enough to adjust, then be satisfied with the results.
