Hi,

First of all make sure it is a Harlequin Ladybird you have by either consulting a decent insect book or looking at the website below.

They are an invasive species (UK) and can harm native ladybirds by either out competing them or eating them.

By accessing the website below you can record your find, which is very important in order to moniter their spread.

You could hand it in to your local museum (who also keep natural history records/collections, and should also be able to varify what it is. The Harlequin Survey might also want to see it, so ask them.

Alternatively you could kill it by placing it in the fridge, if it is to be sent off somewhere, or by using some other suitable means.........
