Tenno 123 - I live in Shanghai (2 1/2 years) and I used to live in Beijing (3 years), there are tons of jobs for foreigners, big German population here, you can google jobs in Shanghai and find tons of job listings, the first answer was good advice too, coming to study, work part-time (how good is your English?) and start making some connections, I studied at Tong Ji for 4 semesters myself, feel free to email me, maybe I can help in some way

I suggest you enrol for a semester (4 months) in a Mandarin training program for foreigners in a Chinese University. If you're seeking work in finance then you should go to Shanghai. The top universities there are Jiao Tong University, Fu Dan, Tong Ji and Cai Jing. Cai Jing (University of Finance and Economics) is probably the best for your needs. All have Chinese language programs for foreigners. By enrolling in a Chinese language-learning program at one of these universities, you can get yourself to China, live in the dormitory, improve your Chinese, make some contacts, and look for a job. By the time the semester ends you will surely have options on jobs. Budget $5000 USD for tuition & living expenses, not including airfare.

It is extremely difficult to get hired in the West and sent to China unless you already have years of work experience under your belt.
