Its best to go with whatever you feel. Perhaps you could go into a store that sells a variety and feel which one's you drawn to the most. I know they say their meant to be brought as a present for you, but I personally think its best for you to pick them as whatever ones you pick for yourself you will be able to work with best. I would think you should go for a deck you like the look of. Or design your own. Or combine a few decks. Or buy a few tarot decks and see which turns you on the most. See how the Fool is portrayed in each deck and see whether you can make the Fool dance (mystic answer the last bit-Got it from Last Trump by Charles Williams-when someone makes the Fool dance the end of the universe as we know it occurs and something out of the ordinary happens. Only based on my febrile recollection of the plot. )

u are supposed to go with your own instincts when u choose a deck of tarot cards. for me, it happened when i saw a book on tarot card reading, and it featured a deck of cards called The Sacred Rose. the pictures just seemed to suit my personality. i had previous decks before this one, but non that i'd felt so drawn to. the rider-waite tarot deck is quite a common one, and the pictures are quite helpful in hinting to the meaning of each card... u also see them used a lot as illustrations in tarot books.

I have a deck of Gummy Bear Tarot cards and they seem to do a great job.

I prefer the Goddess deck. It seems easy to read from. It is all a personal matter though, not everyone likes the same decks, but that is my choice. Hope you find one that you enjoy and feel comfortable with.

if you haven't already bought some try this, go tot he shop that sells the cards, pick each one up and see what vibes u pick up, the pack that gives you the best vibes is the pack for u. There are so many to choice from out there now, mine ended up being an angel pack> have fun. There is no best deck its what attracts u to them.

Each person is different some people like Angel cards, some like Fairy cards, and some like Celtic, if you are thinking of buying some what ever takes your fancy : )

the Rider Waite deck is good as the pictures are very representational. I use the Aleister Crowley deck, which I find fascinating, but find your own. You will find one that you will feel comfortable with, through trial and error.
the facade website has various decks you can look and see what they are like, saves spending a fortune...

If you can find the theme DEVIL based on the tarot Devil card I want you to try to find that deck at some shop or mail catolouge.

You have to choose which ones you want, nobody else can choose them for you. That way it will be a reading entirely dependant on you.
