Making an amv is hard, you shouldnt be like those idiots who spend 5 minutes on it! TRUST ME, I HATE THOSE PPL!! Even for your first, DONT rush to get it finished! Take as long as you want (just TRY not to go over around 3 months!) And dont tell anybody you're making an amv! They might expect it soon pressuring you to hurry up! Tell them when you're almost done. Also, dont put too many effects in you're amv. AMVS are rated on how good they are, how much time the creator spent on it, not showing off all the cool techniques you can use! Maybe using it once in a while is nice, like lip-syncing is good but dont do it to the whole song... It just gets REALLY boring! If you're doing an action amv try to keep up with its beat, flashing to a next scene every cymble clash and such! AND DONT REPEAT CLIPS! Repeating clips is a big problem, it just shows that you are too lazy to look for more! Also when you're done, watch it over and over and over and over again until you're sick of the song! You'd probably be sick of the song after you're done :P If you do this, you can fix the mistakes you see. Dont use transitions such as 'circle in' 'fly out' 'swirly crap' and stuff like that, THAT IS NOT GOOD! It not only wastes time but shows the viewers that you dont have enough creativity to make it cooler! If you're using WMM (windows movie maker) Prepare for it to freeze alot! That is if you're on a slow computer. Everytime you add a clip, re-watch the whole thing. Sometimes little flashes of unwanted scenes appear! If you want any more help, please email me at bloppyblue@hotmail.com (yes, i dont use yahoo so dont bother) A bunch of sites to help you are listed below...
OH! By the way, before you start your amv, make sure your song fits the characters (almost) perfectly! And its better to find a character that suits a song, than a song that suits the character. And copy and paste your lyrics on microsoft word or something and highlight parts you want to be specific about, plan it all out! Because an amv wont be good unless you got everything done before you start! List all your eps before starting too. Good luck, have fun, dont pull out your hair when you get stressed!
