If it was stolen from a public place report it to the highest person with authority. They might have the thief on camera. Also report it stolen at the police department. Take along the serial number wherever you go to report. They can then positively match your iPod if it's found.

Gosh how can people be so irresponsible, in public your ipod should always be either in your hand or in your pocket,

take my advice, get something besides an ipod, there are many mp3 players that beat it in features, playable formats, and durability, the only thing that ipod normally wins at with other hard drive players is size, and who cares, if it fits in a pocket its small enough, i would recomend an archos, a vosonicm a zen vision:m or w, or a wolverine esp or in my opinion the best wolverine mvp
