who actually likes him? he's SO annoying, repetitive and most certainly racist. i say he keeps his big mouth closed coz he aint clever - he's big, but he aint clever. dunno why he calls his show "the happy hour" - he should rename it "the miserable hour", "the repetitive hour" or "the racist hour" even. isn't it about time itv pulled the plug on him?

An hour of someone saying "Look out on holiday or a sausage eating Kraut will put his towel on the sun lounger and his fat hairy wife ain't as good looking as a British bird" is just so out of date that even Bernard Manning may consider it too offencive for his act.
Al's show probably is a favourite for BNP voters everywhere.

I realise to some extent the Landlord character is a parodic figure but given the target audience he has become an icon rather than an absurdity which is sad really.

Al Murray is playing a bigoted, small-minded xenophobe to comic effect, much as they did with Alf Garnett back in the day.

He is highlighting this side of the British character by overblowing it, you laugh at him, as well as with him.

Having said all that, no I don't like him, I just think you're missing the point a bit. I guess you thought Borat was racist when he sang anti-semitic songs....

I think he's a very clever and articulate man.
He certainly is dedicated to immersion in the character.

He's not the greatest commedian, but I think he's ok. I doubt he's racist, he's playing a character.

I can't stand him. He is not funny in the slightest and I find it embarrassing. I think he is quite rude - he was rude to Martin Kemp afew weeks ago, made himself look like complete idiot.
