I live in NYC and go to school in Chelsea the "Gay" neighborhood. I'm straight but my friends that are Gay seem to love it. Of course some people have a problem with it but it's "accepted."

Well, the town that I live in isn't exactly *super-conservative*. I'd say that there's a fairly good mix of Democrats, Republicans, and Libertarians. However, there aren't that many gays and lesbians (I don't even know that we do have any lesbians, or at least in school). I do know of two gays in my school, both of whom are my friends, and I have noticed very little homophobia directed towards them. But for the most part, our town's pretty accepting (though you should watch your back just in case).

I saw that a lot of answerers say that they are fully accepted. Are you sure? Can you have a gay marriage? Can you adopt a child?

I live in the Netherlands, and gay marriage and adoption is possible. It really is a bit funny, but we're a gay couple, and the Netherlands has a treaty with the USA that people who are married in the European Union (and thus the Netherlands) are accepted as a married couple in the USA. I Wonder how the immigration officer would react if I'd say the he's my husband :-)

Why should ANYONE accept people who make a really Stupid decision, like being gay or being in a religion???

lesbians and gays DON'T even accept Themselves!

They need to get a Real Life!
lesbians and gays are the saddest people on earth and the most confused too!
I've had several lesbian and gay friends, but they just end up killing themselves or ending up in the coo-coo house!

I live in a place where I am accepted. I am a talented professional, in-demand. As is my partner. They don't get to have me in a city that isn't accepting of me. They can choke on their shortages until they change their ways.
Bay Area of CA here.

Where do you live Utah? Idaho?
I live where everyone is accepted with much love and understanding. Every now and again a jerk will pass through town, but thank goodness it's not very often.
I moved here from Los Angeles, CA where you'd think tolerence would abound, but it doesn't.

Yeah in Wichita, KS. But are not very many lesbians or gays here. Just basically bi's. And no one seems to care. Here in KS we accept you for who you are.
