He is totally breast fed. He is eating & sleeping well and looks good. Not all of his bowel movements are green, but most of them are. Does anyone know what could be causing this? He sees the doctor on Monday, but just wondering until then.

Sounds like a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance.

Since you have til Monday anyway, try block nursing. simply feed him from only one breast for 2 feedings, or every feeding for 4 hours. Then do the same with the other breast for the next four hours. this will ensure the fatty "hindmilk" gets into him.

If you get uncomfortable, pump the other side and save it for later.

Also, are you giving him ANYTHING other than milk straight from the breast? Even pumped milk? If you do pump for him, it may simply be imbalanced milk in a bottle.

My daughter (also exclusively breastfed) had the same thing. I read somewhere that it could be she was getting too much foremilk and not enough hindmilk, but I'm not convinced that was the case because she nurses A LOT!! Anyway, hers went away on its own...she was fine. I hope your doctor is a BF supporter...don't let him/her tell you to put the baby on formula!!

your baby needs more hindmilk... how you get her to that point is when she is breastfeeding all the milk she gets in the begining of that breast it foremilk.. (low calories) when she "seems" like that breast is done and only dripping she is now getting hindmilk (high calorie fat milk great for growing babies) let her stay on until she is fussy and wants the other breast... those little drips are great for her... good luck!
