I'm pretty sure that every kid goes through this stage...
I want to make sure that you are using the term correctly. Hacking is merely exploring technology to increase your own knowledge. Cracking is the act of breaking past others' security measures in order to inflict harm.
Cracking is illegal and strongly against hacker ethic. Get it out of your head quickly, as it will only bring you trouble.
However, should you actually want to learn to be a "hacker," search the web and find a guide on Hacker Ethic. Hopefully this will give you a pretty good idea of what it is all about : http://gradha.sdf-eu.org/textos/hacker_ethic.en.html
Also find the newest version of the geek code (I think it's at www.hackerkey.com).
The real first step in becoming a hacker would be to learn a programming language (Java is a good start; there are many tutorials all over the internet) and gain a basic knowledge of electronics (www.howstuffworks.com -- go to Electronics on the left side, then to Building Blocks).
Another good site to learn HTML is hackthissite.org which has a lot of good exercises in HTML programming.
Good luck! :)

You aren't a Hacker until you are recognized as one by
other Hackers for your services and good deeds:
1) Go to school learn to program well
2) Respect the Hacker Ethic and the law
3) Share your Knowledge
4) Don't get into flame wars, troll, spam
5) Don't call yourself a cyberpunk or use silly alias's
6) You want respect? always spell check your articles
7) Stay out of trouble don't become a script kiddie
8) Volunteer to help out on open source projects
9) Respect other peoples work and give credit where it's due don't ever steal their source code and claim it's yours or plagiarize their articles Hackers have long memories about these kind of things.
10) Don't pirate or crack software because then your a
thief and nobody respects that

There are sites that teach you to do that and offer hacks to test your skills on.Unfortunately, the one i use is in german, so that won't be much help to you, you need to look for yourself.
In the meantime, have a look at this collection of old textfiles, its hacking section should give you an idea what hacking is about:
http://www.textfiles.com/directory.html
If you aren't already, you need to become a pro on Linux (Hackers don't use Windows). And you should have at least some understanding of HTML, since most hacks offered on those sites are website hacks.
Oh yeah...you might like this game :

it also gives a good (though very basic) understanding of how networks work.

by being devious and conniving and just plain old dishonest..
to become a hacker takes too much brain power for someone who has to ask the question to ever hope to become one..
I am not saying this to you to make you angry okay;;; not my intention at all..
I am just telling you ... become smart and educated enough to be able to be a hacker, but be honest and respectful of others enough not to become one.. okay
good luck with wisdom grasshopper.. hehe
