Ladies what is your man's hobby and how much time and money does he spend doing it a week. I just sat down today and realized my husband spends over 150 dollars a WEEK on just upgrading his RC cars. Everything from Nitro gas, engines, hop ups, tires and that does not include club fee's and race fees. He also spends atleast 2-3 hrs a day just working on his cars. I am glad he has a hobby keeps him out of trouble by my god I had no idea he's spend so much money and time a week on them. And by the way when I say RC cars I dont mean the kind you get at walmart I am talking about Nitro powered cars like Traxxas, Ofna, Hpi, and Losi.

tankgirl190 I do not prevent him in anyway from enjoying his hobby it was a question to see how many other ppl have SO's that spend this much time/money on their hobby..

Yes we can afford it so thats not a complaint either. I do however wonder how long it will be before he starts buying our 9 month old son these same cars because he wants this to be a father/son hobby

Lets see. Mine is addicted to World of Warcraft. He plays it everyday for 3-8 hours. He even made me get up really early in the morning to go stand in line at best buy to buy him the World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Collectors Edition that came with a stupid mousepad. lol. That was around $70. He has to pay $15 a month just to play a game that he has already paid for and that is just the expansion pack. He also had to buy the regular game before that. That game is ruining our relationship.

My hubby plays guitar...it was an initial expensive investment(he has a Les Paul..ooh yeah!) but he only has to spend about 20 bucks a month on new strings...every now and then a new book..he wants a recorder thingy now ...that should be a tad pricey..but no where near ur hubby's..

I think 600 bucks a month is quite expensive for a hobby..but hey, if you can afford it...I sure as hell couldnt..

My husband was into RC cars, too ... not to the extent your hubby is though. Right now, he plays some on-line video games that average out to $20 a month. $150 a week is excessive by any standard.

its good that he has such a productive hobbie but if the cost of it concerns you. yo should sit down with him and work on a comprimize. find away to fairly incorporate the financial part of it into your budget so that it sets a limit without constricting. also if yousave up all ur spare change that can give him extra spending cash to fix them up. hey those pennys and dimes really add up.

As far as I'm concerned he can do whatever he likes. I would not censor his free time, and he in turn cannot censor mine. Just keep in mind, if you are spending money on your hobbies and shopping and stuff, it is probably more than what he is spending. And either way it isn't a contest. If he likes it, great. At least he isn't out causing problems or screwing women. Give him his fun.

Playing in a band. I haven't sat down and figured how much he's spent yet. I know if I did I might have a heart attack! I'm grateful he's just the lead singer!!

We don't have enough money for hobbies. Our hobbies are diapers, wipes, baby wash, baby powder, A&D ointment, kids clothes, etc.

*sigh*

Crossword puzzles and reading. Lots of time 'wasted' but not too much money.
