Every time I try to open Internet Explorer, it gives me an illegal operation error. I have ran AdAware, Spybot, and Kaspersky and none of them have found anything.

It does boot in safe mode (add-ons disabled) however, but I'm certain I don't have any add-ons. Firefox works as well.

I just downloaded Webroot Spysweeper to see if that will help.

While that downloads, has anyone ever run into this before? What can I do to fix it?

My advise:

Go to Add / Remove application in start menu. Click the show updates box at the top and search for the Internet add - on Explorer 7.

Remove the add on from your system, you will be automatically reverted back to Internet explorer six.
Then I recommend you go back to http://www.microsoft.com and re download Internet explorer 7.

This should resolve the problem

Hope this helps.

Run the IE7 Setup file again and choose repair and see if it works. My advice, stick with Firefox and use the IE Tab Add-on if you sometimes need to access the web with IE.
