I have thought of getting one but I'm not to sure how many gallons they hold and what fish would be ok in them.
I've thought of getting either male guppies or neon tetras. How many guppies or neon tetras would be able to fit?

its pretty expensive when you take into consideration it doesnt hold very much water
it says
"water volume is approximately five gallons. "

its only 5 gallons then that big thing in the middle takes up about half of it....you could only really do shrimp or a betta

Woah those are expensive! I have to say, no matter what, do NOT get the saltwater version, that's a rediculously small size and I don't know of any reputable people that would even think of trying salt water in anything under 30 gallons, unless they were VERY experienced.

As for the freshwater, that's still pretty small, but you could get away with a betta, or a few male guppies. If you go with all males, you don't have to worry about overbreeding, and they have nicer colors anyways. I wouldn't go over 3 males for something that size though, at least not right away. If you really keep on top of keeping it clean, you might be able to add another male or two, but only if you're responsible enough to keep up with them. As for neons, I certainly wouldn't go over 10, you might want to just put two in at first, then add more as the tank responds.

By the way, I looked around on their page, and I don't think you'd be able to remove the ceterpiece, since that's where they hide the filter!

I tried calculating the volumes and the "sandcastle" model comes out to about 3 gallons based on the outer dimensions(you can do this yourself with the links in the source box). The decorations probably take up 1/2 gallon of area. Do you want to pay $100 (or more) per gallon of tank? The "upright" style won't allow for much surface area for air exchange, so you'd only be able to safely keep 3-4 fish (preferable males so they won't reproduce).

I'll admit, the tanks are very pretty, thought!

For the money they are asking, I'd get a 5 gallon mini bow (http://www.petco.com/Shop/petco_Product_R_4489_PC_productlist_Nav_217_N_24+115_cp_3_Nao_24_sku_796255_familyID_9201.aspx) - these come in different colors (red blue, teal, orange, purple) and are cheaper at WalMart that at the website - come with a light and filter, so you'd need a small heater, too. Spend the other $300 on nice decorations. A 20 gallon would give you even more flexibility with the number of types and individuals of fish you could keep. If you like the more upright style, you could get a hexagonal tank.

They're small; maybe 20 gallons, but then 2/3 of that space is taken up by the large centerpiece. The available volume of water is only 5 gallons. Usually, a vertical tank isn't so good as the total amount of square inches of water surface is important to the health of the fish, but for guppies or tetras, you should be okay. Just limit your choices to these fish. Also, I'm not a fan of guppies as they are live bearers and can put a championship breeding rabbit to shame! And you don't have room for fry in that tank. Because of the limited water space because of the centerpiece, I would only put in about 2-3 tetras. Without the center decoration, I would put in about 8 tetras.

it says at the very bottom of the description that it holds approximately 5 gallons. I wouldn't put more than 5 guppies or 5 neons in it, personally.

Fantastic fish tanks! i have to find out if they ship internationally!
They are not very big fish tank so i don't think guppies would be appropriate because of their constant re-productivity but then again it is also live fish food for them too!

I have checked the site and they say 3-4 max number of fish!

Either way I think it would be a great buy for whatever fish you put in!

Don't get that tank. Its too narrow and too tall. It will be hard to clean. It doesn't have enough surface area for oxygen exchange. It's too expensive for what you get.
