Personally I think Pink Floyd...David Gilmour has a great tone and some awesome solos.

josh homme has an amazing tone on all of the kyuss records. matt pike's(sleep) tone on "sleep's holy mountain" is gargantuan. can't forget to mention anything tony iommi(black sabbath) has ever recorded. there's so many...
