Equal rights is in my opinion the most important factor when composing a structural and cohesive country. Laws and actions keep our rights equal, these will benefit some and disbenefit others, making the balance of power between people more equal.

I am guessing you are on the disbenefit side, but in a modern country we have to learn to live for everyone, not just yourself.

Oh yes, it's way past time, but remember they've stacked the deck against anyone who opposes them.

However, as usual they have overlooked the obvious, which is The Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This act protects us from power crazy politicians like the loons in Westminster and any legislation passed to weaken the freedoms granted by the Act, are invalid.

But if you really want to kick them where it hurts then use the links in the online magazine http:/www.nottinghamshiretimes.co.uk to two online Downing Street Petitions.

One to scrap the proposed counil tax re-valuation scheme. and the other, my favourite, demanding that any MP who has falsified their expenses is prosecuted. That should put most of them behind bars.

We are now reaping the bitter harvest and it does not seem possible for us to return to the way we once were.

tell them to get off what?

And if you had a clue what life was like in a police state you wouldn't be making such a blase comparison and insulting our democratic system.

It's not a police state, and it's not a dictatorship. The government was fairly elected!

So if you don't like the government, use your vote to change it at the next election...

The Monarchy is outdated and so is the archaic parliamentary and court system. It is time the Brits started to think for themselves and get involved in their politics.
