I was a week over due. At 3:00 p.m. I walked 10 laps around a basketball court before my appointment. At 4:00 p.m. I went to the appointment and I hadn't changed at all I was 0 dilation 0 effacement and still really high. At 5:00 p.m. the doctor sent me to the hospital for a amniotic fluid assessment and a non stress test. I failed the fluid test. (With an ultrasound they determined that the amniotic fluid was very low). They sent me upstairs for the non stress test and determined that I was having contractions. At 6:30p.m. the doctor came to check me after he closed the office. I was dilated to a 1cm and 30% effaced and had dropped. At 11:00 I was dilated to 6cm and got my epidural. My 7lb.10oz. baby girl was born at 4:36 a.m.

Yes, it made me go into labor.

Walk
If you are having contractions but are not yet in labour, walking can help get things going. Walking allows your hips to sway side to side, which will help bring the baby into position to be born. Also, by standing upright, you’re using gravity to move the baby down into the pelvis. Another plus: It usually feels good to walk when you are contracting. And of course, even if you don’t go into full-blown labour, at least you’re getting some exercise.

I went into labor by re-arranging the nursery and having sex. I also soaked in the tub a lot during my pregnancy and that seemed to help greatly when it came time to go to the hospital. It helped with my contractions.

I probably walked about 3km or more a day for the last month of pregnancy. I went into labour after a rest day and a full night sleep....

I walked my *** off. I went up and down my stairs..scrubbed my kitchen floor (someone said that would work), had sex....anything that would help. Nothing worked and I was induced when I was a week overdue.

Seriously...nothing works. It's all biological. I know you probably don't want to hear that..but that's just my opinion from my experience.
