Apes are smarter.
Make an ape work in a cage and they are pets. Make a man work in a cage and they are slaves.
Physically? Opposable thumbs.

Just want to point out that man is, in fact, a type of ape.
All of the characteristics that apply to categorize an ape are features that we also possess.
But to distinguish between modern man and the other species of modern great apes (gorilla, chimp, orangutan), the features that emucompboy listed are bang on correct.

1. Integrated consciousness
2. Proportions of arms and legs
3. Upright stance (we're balanced for running! Other apes aren't).
4. The shape of our feet
5. Muscle insertion points on arms. (Chimps are a lot stronger than they look).
6. Brain size compared with body weight
7. Our teeth!
8. We don't have sagittal crests like male gorillas
9. Our hair doesn't grow long all over our bodies

I used to think we were a lot more intelligent, but I'm not so sure anymore.
We do have more specialized vocal cords, and speech centers of our brains. Hmm... yeah, so that's about it. Less dense fur. So, we're just talking apes with less dense fur, and a slightly different bone structure.
Who wants a bannana?

They have better facial hair than I do, which is totally not fair.
Buncha hairy jerks. I can see them lording it over me, too. I go to the zoo, and Kumquat the Gorilla is just there pointing and smiling and going "Oook, ook, umpa ook ook!" which, I am sure, translates to one of two things:
1) You are not a man!
or
2) I have every intention of flinging my poo at you if two conditions are not met. Firstly, the bananas I receive are too often starting to become rancid, and this offends my sensibilities. Secondly, I demand that between the hours of three and four PM central standard time the lights be dimmed and crowds moved away to allow me to take my daily constitutional nap.
Either way...

Not as much as we would like to pretend. Some minor anatomical changes to the hips and base of the skull, a slightly different way of thinking (perhaps), a more complex language.
