No, I play video games a lot, and I still have great conversation skills.

Well, that might be for games that do not have online features, but games that do actually help your social skills because you are talking to people the more you play. Games like Halo 2 are especially helpful as long as you don't act annoying or say stupid things like, "OMG guys, I got a double kill!" Just to let you know, that is old-school and everyone can get a double, getting a Kill Frenzy is the new hipe.

I used to drive my guildmates crazy with my constant correcting of "ur" and other variations of poor grammar.
And I hated it when they called me "man" and "dude" before they found out I really was a chick.
But other than that, I'd say their social skills were about on par with just about everyone else I talk to online. Most of them were a lot nicer. Or maybe that's just because I saved their butt more times than they could count. Gaming doesn't kill social skills. People kill social skills.
Or something.
It is disturbing how easily how phrases like "PWND" and "NOOB" get assimilated into ones vocabulary. It is not pleasant. Especially when it slips out while shopping with a non-gaming friend, for example.

This isn't true. If you play games like FF, then you get better at conversations and stuff for some reason. It has been proven. There was some article about this on BBC.

Yes especially when it's an online game, you always use internet slang, and accidentally use it in real life. Like my riend talked on the phone too much and when ever he spoke he always said hello first. It was pretty freaky.
