I find my mother much prefers if I spend TIME with her on Mother's Day. We usually go out for lunch, and play cards afterwards. I try to talk with her about the things she enjoys.

Seems to work just fine.

I spend what I have. I'm young and a writer, so I don't have a ton of expendable cash. I try to give her things that are really meaningful; when I don't have any money, I write a poem specifically for her and then cook her a big dinner. Usually, all she wants is to hang out with her two daughters anyway.

As a mum I wish my girls wouldn`t spend a lot as I prefer them to spend it on themselves. I know how they feel about me with the phone calls and visits I have from them during the year.
When my mum was alive she felt the same so I used to have her with me for the day, This was the best present I could give her, she had flowers and a card as well.

Little to nothing much. We used to take our Mom on a picnic so she could have a day away from her responsibilities and enjoy her daughters without kids, husbands...just us...it was WONDERFUL. No stress just wonderful memories (not to mention photo's) of a happy day spent with the woman that gave us life.

I usually spend about $30 usually flowers shipped to her, so it costs about $45-50 with shipping.

there is no amount of money in the world that can make up for all the thing any mother has done for her child but as long as you put your heart and soul in to buying one for her she will love it

What you can afford. Get her something that you think she'll like.

Moms understand if you don't have a lot of money that you can afford to spend. They just appreciate that you did your best.
