Why are women so self-conscious about they're weight?

Women feel the need to have the approval of men through their appearance. When they look fat, ugly, or some other bad quality they become self-conscious because they think that men will look at them different. They also think that you will judge them just by their weight. for example if a pretty and skinny woman walks by guys are likely to stare but if an obese woman walks by their are most likely to say something about them. Some women think that guys who are dawgs like bones; skinny women.... And real men like a girl with a little meat on their bones.

Because society tells us that we have to look a certain way and if we don't we are labeled with humiliating names. We are told that men prefer "this or that" therefore women obsess over being the perfect catch. Because the whole world looks at the physical first. After all, how many times does a man look at a quote unquote "fat girl" and say, "she has a great personality, I'd like to get to know her"?

Because of Men! MEn are so shallow in thinking that in order for a women to be pretty or sexy, they have to be a skinny as a tooth pick! Also, people sometimes judge your personality when you are fatter! I used to have a weight problem when I was little(I lost the weight now), and People used to tease me and none of the guys would ever take a look at you! ALso, when you read magazines! They want to acheive that "perfect" (fake) look! THats it why women are self-conscous about their weight! Its beceuase of MEN!!

Because men only take a second look at the slim ones and shop mannequins and models are all skinny. Most clothes are made to suit skinny women better. Larger women are portrayed in general as ugly, lazy and undesirable.

cuz of the influence ppl have on us ..such as the very skinny models.. they believe that everyone should look like them.. we are all build differently and shouldnt try to be things we are not.. but we are going to be self-conscious because we consider other ppl round us to be prettier and stuff cuz they are soo tiny...but at some point we learn to love what we have and dont try to be like others that we know will never happen cuz of our genetics and bone structure
