What do you think? I think it's short, cute and a little old fashioned (in a good way), but my hubby can only think of 'poison ivy'. Is that your first reaction?

I think there are a lot of negative connotations with the name Ivy, including "poison ivy". Also, on a daytime soap opera there is a not-so-nice woman named Ivy. I think there was also a woman wrestler named Ivy.

When I hear this name, I think of all these....sorry.

I didn't think of "poison ivy" till you mentioned it!
I like the name Ivy, very cute and like you said old fashioned in a good way. There probably won't be 5 other girls in her kindergarten with the same name, which is always good.

Maybe the whole poison thing could come up at some point during adolescence amongst other children, but it is all in how you teach your child to handle it as to how much something like that could affect them. Then again, just about every name has some way to be made fun of by a 6 yr old!

I think it's nice.

I love the name Ivy, I always have. If your hubby has a problem with the "poison Ivy " thing, try it as a middle name, I love Elizabeth Ivy, Marissa Ivy, and Sophia Ivy.

First reaction before I even read your details:
**Poison Ivy**

Sorry. Use it as a middle name if your heart is set on it. I do agree, it is a very pretty name.

I LOVE it. LOVE it. I haven't heard that name in a long long time, and you know what? No matter what you name your baby, people will associate it with whatever they want. My daughter's name is Eden, and people always talk about the Garden of Eden from the Bible. It's a great name, so I vote that you stick with it!
