RPM means "Roatations per minute, this is how many times the crankshaft spins in a minute. most cars have a tactometer that registers RPM's X 1,000. the faster you go the more RPM's. At idel in park you'll be doing 500 to 1,000 or so as you accelerate you will go up to 5,000 or so if your really going good.
