old Dell Latitude notebooks don't have a network adapter but they have a PCMCIA slot. if you're willing to spend a few bucks you can get a 10/100Mbps 32-Bit CardBus Ethernet Card that will work for all operating systems including Windows 95 & 98.
just plug it in and install the driver and it works like a charm.

of course you can also get a wireless PCMCIA card instead.

Depending on how old it is and whether or not it has an ethernet port, your only choice might be dial-up... check out MSN or AOL. Otherwise if it does have an ethernet (looks like a slightly larger telephone port) then you add internet just like you would for any other computer. Set up broadband internet in your house through your cable or phone service provider.

have you ever put in SP2? If no longer have you ever caught the MSBlast malicious application or equivilent? in simple terms seen working residing house windows 2000 and not XP. It would not pick you on the internet or you will discover something to kill it. the main rational element to do could be a sparkling deploy of XP/2000 from an o.e.m disc and 2000 key's on the opposite of the computer. There are unused, sealed XP professional OEM packs on ebay each so often with unused key. Then that key could in basic terms be used in this computer. be sure packs have never been used for that reason. Kill it ASAP incase it has something nasty instore for a particular date like April a million or Dec 25. you besides could do no longer pick it infecting different gadgets like USB flash sticks and so on. it is why i could boot a cd, wipe it and deploy residing house windows sparkling.
