I bought the 80Gig video the day it came out back in September and it is AMAZING!!! But, my little brother and my father both have Nanos and they are also well worth the money. Here are a few things to help you decide:

1. Videos
If videos are a must, then get the 80GB video.

2. Capacity
If capacity is important, then get the Video

3. Games
If you want to play any of the 12 iPod games apple has now (and i hear there are better ones coming out soon) get the Video

4. Size
If size is important, get a product(RED) 8GB nano (since you have the money) because the new nanos are super small.

5. Patience
If you can wait a few months, the 6th Gen iPod(video) is supposed to be 1,000,000,000x better then the 80GB video (the date of release is not confirmed so don't blame me if it comes out in a long time.) Also, there are rumours of Apple hardware updates at the end of march, and the iPod Nano is one of the things rumoured to be updated, so I think waiting a few weeks isn't that bad, especially if it is true.

The 80GB video has a few more features than the nano, but they are pretty important ones. Your best bet is to go with the video, because what ever you think now about the screen size will go away in an instant. It is huge! I love watching videos on it.

The Bottom Line:
If you want fashionable, vibrant, colourful, small music, get the nano.

If you want a Bulky(bulk is goooood), Shiny, Powerhouse of Media, get the 80GB Video.

P.S. I would get the 80GB even if you don't think you don't need that much because I have 34GB on my 80, and I wanted to get the 30GB but now I am glad I didn't.(video takes up space quickly)

(and no i am not a salesman for Apple)

I say neither. I decided to buy an ipod a few months ago and researched it like crazy. The nanos and minis aren't worth it because you can't watch video. I bought the 30 gig ipod video and i cannot fill it up. When you put movies on it condenses them. I have anchorman on there and it is less than 500 megabytes. The 30 gig stores all my songs, all my pictures, 8 movies and 3 seasons of tv shows. And i still have almost 10 GBs left!

I say neither. i desperate to purchase an ipod some months in the past and researched it like loopy. The nanos and minis are not properly worth it given which you won't be able to observe video. i offered the 30 gig ipod video and that i won't be able to fill it up. once you place video clips on it condenses them. I even have anchorman on there and it somewhat is under 500 megabytes. The 30 gig shops all my songs, all my photos, 8 video clips and 3 seasons of television exhibits. and that i nonetheless have almost 10 GBs left!

It depends on what you are going to use it for. For something small in size I would get the Nano. To watch Vidoes and store more songs I would get the 80gb iPod. You can't watch videos on the Nano. Overall its your choice on what you will be using it for.

Good luck

80GB all the way! The nano is pretty much for people who want an ipod just for the sake of having one...

80 GIG all the way!!! b/c it can play videos, and also i like to use
mine as a 2nd hard drive on my computer, so u can hold more things, but if ur not wanting to spend much just go with the nano, but the 80 would be way better.

IF YOU WANT TO WATCH VIDEOS THEN GO WITH THE IPOD BUT IF IT'S JUST MUSIC TNEN GO WITH THE NANO. BASE YOUR DECISION ON HOW MUSIC YOU HAVE TO INSTALL AND DECIDE FROM THERE. YOU HAVE MORE CHOICES WITH THE NANO THEN THE IPOD. I HAVE AN 4GB NANO AND I AM CONTENT B/C I HAVE OVER 2100 SONGS ON MINE AND THAT IS MORE THAN ENOUGH FOR ME. HOPE THAT HELPS.

If money is no concern, go for the 80GB iPod, definitely.
More storage, bigger and brighter screen, longer battery life, video, games, ... (should I go on?).

if u want the best in mp3 players i wouldnt get an ipod, if u want the best ipod because most people like them because they are popular because they are the only player in commercials, so they are popular even though they have a lack of features, lowsy furmway and barely any formats, if u decide email me and ill give u a list of good players, go to my profile to email
