You probably have a PCMCIA slot in your laptop. If you do, I recommend this card: ASUS WL-100gE BroadRange High Speed Mode Cardbus

I purchased one for my Mom for Christmas and it has excellent signal reception.

antenna? I think you mean a wireless card. Chances are if you have an older laptop then you have what are called pcmcia slots on the side of it. You have never probably taken the time to notice them but if you turn your laptop to the side (i.e. edge of laptop facing you) you should see one or two small slots with a trigger or snap beside them. They are currently filled with placeholders (to keep dust and the like out when you're not using these slots) This is where the pcmcia card goes. You can get any card, as long as they are pcmcia. 802.11b/g compliant is all you need to remember.

If your Laptop has a long rectangular slot in the side then you can get one that slides in there and sticks out, that's a wireless card. Or you could get a USB (Universal Serial Bus) adapter.
