RESET YOUR IPOD. TURN YOUR IPOD HOLD BUTTON ON AND OFF. THEN PRESS THE MENU AND CENTER BUTTON FOR ABOUT 6 SECONDS UNTIL THE SCREEN GOES BLACK AND THE APPLE SYMBOL COMES UP. RECONNECT YOUR IPOD TO YOUR COMPUTER AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. IF IT DOESN'T WORK THEN CHECK FOR UPDATES ON YOUR IPOD WHEN YOU CONNECT TO ITUNES.

When this happens it is an indication that your ipod will need a replacement battery. You may find it will still work if you disconnect it from charging but the battery will not last as long as it used to: http://www.ipod-vibez.com (ipod songs and movie downloads)
