That isn't one question it is several.

And one of those questions is in error on the facts it presents so it is unanswerable.

wow this is a lot of questions there....let me see if i can answer them all.....

1. slaves came to America from Africa during the Slave trade. some were sold into slavery, others were stolen

2. an indentured slave is one who becomes a slave because he/she cannot repay money that has been loaned to them. so they become a slave to help pay off the debts owed

3. slaves would have come for many things. i think tobacco was one industry, also cotten picking which was very straining on an individual. not to mention slaves that would work in the house keeping it clean and tidy.

4. that was the America Civil War. not a lot of people believe it was totally on slavery issue. but it did have some significance. america was seperated by an line known as the Mason Dixon Line. Above it was the northern states who didnt believe in slavery so much. below it was the southern states who's whole economy flourished on slavery. why did they have differing ideas even though they were the one country...it all came down to the industrys. the south was more agricultural so they needed workers. the north more industrial.

not sure about the next question and what u mean...but to help themselves during times of slavery slaves would sing songs. the songs would help boost their moral but also would have hidden codes laying in the lyrics. things that only the africans knew. it might be a code suggesting keep walking left of the railway track until u get to a swamp, something like that.

last question....slavery was a huge thing for the southern economy in america which is why the needed them. the African Slave Trade was a huge economy too thus it flourished. when Africans couldnt be bought, they (the Dutch) started to steal young men and sell them into Slavery. slaves had value. whipping and hurting a slave so severe would be a negative to the value of a slave. especially when the slave owner wanted to sell them. Africans lost all their sense of self and culture as now they were a "product". to be bought and sold by the highest bidder. it was a cruel system, but it is what has helped create the America you see today. their efforts in the cotten and tobacco fields is what hellped spark and keep the economy running well. after the American Civil War and many slaves were freed, the southern economy experienced a period of negative economic growth...no more slaves to do the hard work

not all slaves were treated bad. some were paid (small sums) and they had their own lots. a lot was their own special place which may have had a very small garden in which they planted vegetables and took them to the markets to make some more money....

hope that all helps...
