No more rival gangs attack your hood so you don't have to rush back and defend it. Good if you're in the middle of doing something else, bad because it gets a bit boring without it.
On a side note, you can actually take over other areas not listed on your map, I somehow managed to take over Bayside Marina up north. Not exactly sure how you do it though, it has to be the right gang there (yellow bandanas I think), don't attack the Triads(?) they have Desert Eagles and killing them doesn't start a turf war.

Waste of time imo. From memory I think your gang (Grove Street) gets to control that area... so you have less rival gangs around shooting at you as you pass.
Actually I'm gonna load it up. I started replaying it last week (finished it once before) and am currently at the fork-lift-truck/box mission with Ryder... stealing weaponary from the weekend soldiers. Some missions are a pain though... need more skip trip.

well thats pretty much it there are only really the side missions to do after that but what i done was tried to collect all the cars and modify some of them.
